There is hereby established in the Village of Rouses Point the office of Deputy Treasurer. This office shall be in the exempt class regarding civil service classification.
The term of office of the Deputy Treasurer shall be for one official Village year and shall be concurrent with the terms of office of the Village Treasurer.
The Deputy Treasurer shall be appointed by the Mayor of the Village subject to approval of the Board of Trustees. The Deputy Treasurer shall he required to take and file the official oath of office. Vacancy of this office shall be filled by appointment in accordance with the provisions of the Village Law, as amended.
A. 
The Deputy Treasurer shall assist the Treasurer of the Village and shall work under the supervision of the Village Administrator and the Village Treasurer.

The Deputy Treasurer shall possess the powers and perform the duties of the Village Treasurer during the absence or inability of the Village Treasurer to act; or during a vacancy in the office of the Village Treasurer.
C. 
The Deputy Treasurer shall assist the Village Treasurer in all matters as required by the Clerk or as required by the Village Treasurer or as required by the Mayor and Board of Trustees, and the Deputy Treasurer shall also perform such other duties pertaining to this office as prescribed by law or by resolution as determined by the Board of Trustees.
The annual salary for the Deputy Treasurer shall be established by the Board of Trustees and shall hereafter be appropriated in the annual budget.
Nothing herein contained shall be deemed or construed as abolishing, transferring, impeding or curtailing any powers or duties of any elected official, or of the Board of Trustees, or of the Mayor, Treasurer or Attorney, as prescribed by the Village Law or other applicable laws of the state.
