No member of any company shall drive any Department
vehicle apparatus except the regularly appointed drivers, unless directed
to do so by the company officer or one of the Chiefs, and then only
in case of emergency.
No member of any company shall be permitted
to tamper with or fix or repair any apparatus unless so directed by
the company Captain or Lieutenant.
No person other than Borough officials, fire
fighters or properly authorized Borough employees shall be allowed
to enter any firehouse or handle any apparatus or implements belonging
to the Department unless accompanied by an active member of the Department.
Fire apparatus shall be permitted to leave the
confines of the Borough in accordance with mutual aid agreements.
If, for any other reason than aforesaid, it is desired that the apparatus
be permitted to leave the confines of the Borough, then, and in that
event, the approval of the Mayor and Council must be obtained.
All requests for repairs or supplies for the various companies of the Department shall be presented to the Board of Fire Officers for the approval or recommendation of said Board by the Captain of such companies at the time the monthly report mentioned in §
25-23 is presented. In case any apparatus shall become so disabled that immediate repairs are necessary, the Captain of the company operating such apparatus shall immediately report the condition to the Chief, who shall notify the Fire Commissioner for appropriate action.
The company officer in charge of his company
at a fire or drill shall report to the Chief all fire hydrants that
are found out of order, leaky or that are set in such a manner as
to make it difficult to connect thereto.
