It is hereby declared to be the policy of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Honeoye Falls to provide for the safety, health and general welfare of the residents of this village and the users of the streets and sidewalks of the village. By this chapter, the Board of Trustees seeks to prevent any residents or users of certain streets and sidewalks from sustaining personal injury or property damage as a result of the use and operation of skateboards within the commercial business district of the village.
For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
SKATEBOARDING
The practice of one (1) or more persons riding, pedaling or otherwise propelling themselves on a single narrow board, constructed of wood, plastic, fiberglass or other substance, mounted on two (2) or more roller skate-type wheels, designed to be ridden by a person or persons and which has no steering device or mechanism to steer or control the direction thereof while being used or ridden, even though the direction may be controlled to some degree by shifting the feet or weight of the rider during such use.[1]

A. 
No person shall use, operate or ride upon any skateboard within the Village of Honeoye Falls on the following streets or areas:
(1) 
Any village park.
(2) 
Any village parking lot.
(3) 
On West Main Street, between the intersection of West Main Street with Monroe Street and East Street and the intersection of West Main Street with Norton Street, and the sidewalks on either side of West Main Street between said intersections.
(4) 
On North Main Street, between the intersection of North Main Street with Monroe Street and East Street and the intersection of North Main Street with Maplewood Avenue, and the sidewalks on either side of North Main Street between said intersections.
(5) 
On Monroe Street, between the intersection of Monroe Street with North Main Street and West Main Street and the intersection of Monroe Street with Locust Street and Lehigh Street, and the sidewalks on either side of Monroe Street between said intersections.
(6) 
On East Street, between the intersection of East Street with North Main Street and West Main Street and the intersection of East Street with Church Street, and the sidewalks on either side of East Street between said intersections.
(7) 
On Ontario Street, between the intersection of Ontario Street with East Street and the intersection of Ontario Street with Church Street and South Church Street, and the sidewalks on either side of Ontario Street between said intersections.

B. 
Further, no person shall use, operate or ride on any skateboard in any other place within the Village of Honeoye Falls in such an unsafe or dangerous manner as to put himself, herself or others in danger of death or serious bodily injury.
A. 
Any police officer observing a person under sixteen (16) years of age violating any provision of this chapter shall take possession of the skateboard and the offender, deliver the offender and the skateboard to his residence and notify the offender's parents or guardian of the violation.
B. 
Any person sixteen (16) years or older who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) for each offense or imprisonment for not more than fifteen (15) days, or both.[1]
