A. 
Whenever any words and phrases are used in this chapter, the meaning respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1 of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used herein.
B. 
In addition to the aforementioned definitions, the following shall also apply:
PARKING LOT
Any lot owned and/or operated by the Borough of Haddonfield and used for the parking of vehicles.
PARKING METER
A device which shall indicate thereon the length of time during which a vehicle may be parked in a particular place which device shall have as a part thereof a receptacle for receiving and storing coins of the United States, a slot or place in which said coin may be deposited, a timing mechanism to indicate the passage of the interval of time during which parking is permissible and shall display an appropriate signal when the aforesaid interval of time shall have elapsed.

SCHOOL HOURS
The hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday when school is in session.
Whenever certain hours are named in this chapter, they shall mean either Eastern standard time or Eastern daylight saving time as may be in current use.
Any vehicle parked in violation of this chapter shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner shall bear the reasonable costs of removal and storage which may result from such removal before regaining possession of the vehicle.
A. 
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey Statute or this chapter, every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter or any supplement thereto shall be liable to a penalty of not more than $200 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days or both.
B. 
The above suggested penalty form is in conformity with N.J.S.A. 39:4-203 and should be used as a uniform standard throughout the state.
If any part or parts of this chapter are, for any reason, held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter.
This chapter may also be known and referred to as the "Traffic Ordinance."
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this chapter.
