Games of chance, commonly known as "raffles" or "bingo" or similar lawfully permitted games, as provided by the laws of the State of New Jersey 1954, Chapters
5 and 6, may be conducted seven days a week, including Sunday, provided that the applicant for the license to conduct such game otherwise qualifies under the provisions of the aforementioned statutes of the State of New Jersey and the rules and regulations of the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission and, specifically, provided that the organization conducting the games is charitable, religious or other organization specifically qualifying under the provisions of the aforementioned statutes.
Fees for the following games of chance shall be as set forth in Chapter
163, Fees:
B. Raffles.
(1) On-premises draw raffles, awarding cash or merchandise as a prize.
(2) Off-premises draw raffles, awarding merchandise as a prize.
(4) Off-premises draw raffles, awarding cash as a prize (50/50s).
C. Fees for bingo licenses and raffle licenses in the categories in Subsection
B(1),(2) and (3) above are due in full at the time the application is filed with the municipality. For raffle licenses in the category in Subsection
B(4), a fee is due at the time the application is filed and an additional fee is due upon the filing of the report of operations.
D. Special door prize raffle: no fee is payable and no license is required,
provided the merchandise is wholly donated, has a total retail value
of less than $50, and the raffle is conducted in accordance with N.J.A.C.
13:47-3.11 and 8.15.
E. Calendar raffle awarding cash or merchandise as a prize.
F. Instant raffle games awarding cash or merchandise as a prize.
G. Golf hole-in-one contest.
The Borough Clerk shall file a copy of this article with the
Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission in the Department of
Law and Public Safety within 10 days after adoption hereof.
