The Board of Trustees may, by resolution, cause the installation
and maintenance of traffic control devices when and as required under
the provisions of this chapter to make effective the provisions of
this chapter and may cause the installation and maintenance of such
additional traffic control devices as it may deem necessary to regulate,
warn or guide traffic under the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State
of New York, subject to the provisions of §§ 1682 and
1684 of that law.
In addition to all other regulations in this chapter, the following
traffic and parking regulations shall be effective on all streets
in the village, and uniform signs indicating such regulations shall
be erected and maintained at all street entrances to the village:
A. No person shall park a vehicle for longer than one hour, between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except
holidays, on any village street.
B. No person shall park a vehicle on any village street between the
hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
C. No person shall park a commercial vehicle on any village street at
any time, except for the pickup or delivery of materials on such streets.
D. Through trucking is prohibited on all streets in the village.

A. No person shall operate, move or cause to be operated or moved any
equipment upon any street or highway in the Village of Hewlett Bay
Park if the movement of said equipment occurs upon treads or any means
of support other than tires; provided, however, that this subsection
shall not be applicable to the operation of any vehicle or equipment
authorized pursuant to the Vehicle and Traffic Law to be operated
on a public street or highway.
B. No person shall load or unload or permit the loading or unloading
of any construction or other equipment weighing in excess of 1,000
pounds to or from any vehicle or truck on any street or highway within
the Village of Hewlett Bay Park.
C. The provisions of this section shall not be applicable to the vehicles
or equipment of any public utility company or transportation corporation
nor to any contractor lawfully engaged in construction, repair or
maintenance of a street or highway.
