Vehicles and traffic — See Ch. 581.
No person shall use, ride, propel, stand upon or otherwise operate a skateboard in the following areas of the Borough of Souderton:
A. 
Upon the cartway of any street or public alley.
B. 
Upon any sidewalk in the area designated as the business district. For purposes of this chapter, the business district shall include the entire length of Main Street and Broad Street, between Wile Avenue and County Line Road.
C. 
Upon any public basketball court, tennis court, band shell, swimming pool walk or any park walk.
D. 
Upon any municipal parking lot, with the exception provided to the swimming pool parking lot where skateboarding shall be permitted during the portion of the year when the swimming pool is closed following the summer season.
E. 
Upon any private property where notice of disallowance of skateboarding was communicated by the owner or agent by duly posting the premises with a sign rendering such notice of prohibition.
Any person using, riding, propelling or otherwise operating a skateboard in any permitted area of the Borough of Souderton shall at all times yield right-of-way to any pedestrian on a sidewalk.
Any police officer who observes any person violating any provision of this chapter may seize and take possession of any such misused skateboard.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall suffer the following penalties:
A. 
First offense: confiscation by the police for a period of 15 days.
B. 
Second offense: confiscation by the police for a period of 30 days.
C. 
Third and all subsequent offenses: confiscation by the police for a period of 45 days and payment of an administrative fee of $25.
