An outdoor
farmers market is permitted to be held under the direction of the
Department of Public Affairs from May 1 to November 1 each calendar
year. The location of the farmers market shall be set by the Town.
The number of vendors to be permitted shall be set by the Commissioner
of Public Affairs.
Hours
of operation are from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursdays. The hours
and day of the farmers market are subject to change by the Commissioner
of the Department of Public Affairs. No vendor shall be allowed to
occupy the site earlier than one hour prior to the start time for
purposes of setup and shall occupy the site no longer than one hour
after the designated closing time for cleanup. Each vendor is required
to return the site in a clean, broom-swept condition free of litter
and debris.
Each vendor
is required to submit an application to the Department of Public Affairs.
Each applicant shall provide information regarding the type of products
to be sold, the address of the vendor, the identity of any authorized
agents or employees and proof of insurance. Issuance of a permit shall
be valid for the calendar year in which the application is approved.
All vendors
are required to comply with all state, county and local ordinances
and regulations regarding health and fire safety. All products for
sale shall comply with state health regulations.
Each vendor
will be limited to an assigned space to be determined by the Town.
The vendor is responsible to maintain the area clean and free of obstruction
to the public right-of-way.
