No person, individual, partnership, corporation or other entity
shall own, operate or maintain a junkyard within City limits.

As used in this Chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
JUNK
Old or scrap copper, brass, rope, rags, batteries, paper,
trash, rubber, debris, waste, or junked, dismantled, or wrecked automobiles
or other vehicles or parts thereof, iron, steel, and other old or
scrap ferrous or nonferrous material.
JUNKYARD
An establishment, area or place of business maintained, operated
or used for the storing, keeping, buying or selling of junk or for
the operation of an automobile graveyard, garbage dump or sanitary
fill.

Any person found guilty of violating the terms of this Chapter
shall be fined not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more
than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each violation thereof; provided,
however, that in the event of a continuing violation for the same
conduct, there shall be imposed a per diem fine in the sum of at least
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day for each successive day such
conduct is engaged in following issuance of summons for the initial
violation, said per diem penalty not to exceed one hundred dollars
($100.00) per day, and said per diem penalty to continue until such
time as said conduct shall be discontinued or abated.
