Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-136 et seq., there is hereby created in the Town of Secaucus the Office of Town Administrator.
The Town Administrator shall administer the executive responsibilities and business affairs of the Town of Secaucus. The Town Administrator shall have such administrative powers and perform such duties other than those required by law to be exercised by the governing body itself, or by another officer, board or body.
The Town Administrator shall, also be known as the Equal Employment Opportunity Officer of the Town of Secaucus, who shall oversee the Town's compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and consent decrees entered into by the Town with respect to equal opportunity, including but not limited to record keeping with respect to the same, and establishing such procedures as are necessary to meet this responsibility.
The term of office of the Town Administrator shall be at the pleasure of the governing body.
The Town Administrator shall be appointed by the Mayor and Council.
The Town Administrator may be removed by a 2/3 vote of the governing body. The resolution shall become effective three months after its adoption, unless the governing body provides that its removal resolution has immediate effect. If a removal resolution shall have immediate effect, the governing body shall cause to be paid to the Town Administrator forthwith any unpaid balance of his salary and his salary for the next three calendar months following the adoption of the resolution.
The salary of the Town Administrator shall be as set forth in the annual Salary Ordinance.
