Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140, there is hereby created the office of Town Engineer of the Town of Secaucus.
The Town Engineer shall be appointed by the Mayor and Council for a term of three years.
The Town Engineer shall be a duly qualified licensed engineer authorized by the laws of this State to practice his profession in the State of New Jersey.
The Town Engineer shall perform and supervise Town engineering work whenever such engineering services are requested by the Mayor and Council and/or Town Administrator. The Town Engineer shall review such files and give recommendations as required by the Secaucus Board of Adjustment and the Secaucus Planning Board. The Town Engineer shall, at the request of the Mayor and Council, attend meetings of said body, and of any body or agency or board of the Town of Secaucus, give general engineering advice and represent the Town generally in technical matters that may require the services of an engineer.
The salary of the Town Engineer shall be set forth in the annual Salary Ordinance.
