This Article shall be known as the "Police Subsistence Allowance Ordinance of the Town of Secaucus."
Beginning with the fiscal year June 1, 1958, of the amounts appropriated by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Secaucus, New Jersey, for police officials, the sum of $5 per day for each workday shall be designated as and shall constitute a statutory subsistence allowance. The purpose of this section is to give the police officials employed by the Town of Secaucus the tax benefits provided for by Section 120 of the 1954 Internal Revenue Code, which subsistence allowance shall not be in addition to the allowance authorized by the municipal ordinance fixing the salaries of police officials in the Town of Secaucus, but shall be deemed to be a part of the payment to police officials authorized by said Salary Ordinance.[1]

Such statutory subsistence allowance shall continue until this Article is repealed or Section 120 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 is repealed, whichever occurs first.
