Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., there is hereby established, within the Borough, a Municipal Court to be known as the "Municipal Court of the Borough of Ringwood."

The Municipal Court shall have a seal, which shall bear the impress of the name of the Court.

There shall be a Judge of the Municipal Court who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Borough Council. The Judge shall serve for a term of three years from the date of his appointment and until his successor is appointed and qualified.

The Judge of the Municipal Court shall be compensated by an annual salary as fixed by ordinance. The compensation so paid shall be in lieu of any and all other fees.

The Municipal Court Judge, before entering upon the duties of his office, shall take, subscribe and file the Oath of Office required by law and rules of court.

The Municipal Court and the Municipal Court Judge shall have, possess and exercise all the jurisdiction, powers, functions and duties which are conferred by law and the applicable rules of the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

a. 
There is hereby created the position of Municipal Court Administrator and the position of Assistant Administrator of the Municipal Court.
b. 
Appointment to this position shall be made by the Borough Manager.
c. 
Bond or Insurance. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2B:12-12, before assuming office, the Court Administrator or person employed by the court who handles money in the scope of that employment, shall be covered by a bond or insurance against loss or misappropriation of funds payable to the Borough in an amount required by the Borough.

a. 
There is hereby established the position of Court Attendant for the Municipal Court.
b. 
The Court Attendant shall perform such duties as conferred by law under the direction of the Judge of the Municipal Court.
c. 
The Court Attendant shall be an authorized Class Two Special Law Enforcement Officer.
