The purpose of the ordinance is to create the position of Chief Financial Officer in compliance with requirements established by Chapter 110, Laws of New Jersey 1988, also known as the "Municipal Finance Officers Certification Bill." (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq.)
There is hereby established by the Board of Commissioners the position of Chief Financial Officer, who shall be under the supervision of the Director of the Department of Revenue and Finance.
A. 
The Chief Financial Officer shall also hold the position of Comptroller/Treasurer and shall fulfill all the obligations of a municipal finance officer in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq. and in accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-24 et seq.
B. 
The Chief Financial Officer shall have the responsibility for the fiscal records of the borough and shall advise and assist the Board of Commissioners with regard to fiscal planning and future financial recommendations.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance shall be and the same are hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall take effect upon passage and publication as prescribed by law.
