[Adopted 1-24-1996 (Sec. 20103 of the 1996 Code)]
No person shall hereafter erect, construct, or maintain an awning, display sign, marquee, or other suspended obstruction over a street or public place unless it conforms to the following requirements:
A. 
The lowest point of any awning shall not be less than seven feet above the street or sidewalk over which it hangs.
B. 
No part of a marquee shall extend beyond the curbline of the sidewalk and a marquee shall be at least eight feet above the sidewalk.
C. 
No sign shall extend beyond the curbline or clear less than eight feet above the sidewalk or ground.
D. 
Every awning, marquee or other suspended obstruction shall be kept safely and securely supported and fastened to the building and be made of such material as to present no unreasonable risk or danger to the passing public.
E. 
Failure to comply with any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed a violation and the violator shall be punished as set forth on the Village of Dryden Fine Schedule, which Fine Schedule may be established by resolution and thereafter amended from time to time by resolution of the Village Board of Trustees.
