As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
PARK
Any tract or parcel of land within the confines of the Borough
of Wanaque that is designated by the Mayor and Council as an area
where the resident's of the Borough of Wanaque and their guests may
go for pleasure and/or recreational purposes.

A. The Borough does hereby specifically prohibit any
tobacco use on any recreational facility, including all fields and
playgrounds, owned by or leased to the Borough of Wanaque. For purposes
of this section, “tobacco” shall mean any product that
is made from the tobacco plant for the purpose of being smoked, inhaled
or chewed by a person, including but not limited to, cigars, chewing
tobacco, pipe tobacco, snuff and cigarettes in any form.
B. This section shall be enforced by any member of the
Police Department of the Borough of Wanaque as well as by recreational
employees of the Borough of Wanaque.
C. A violation of this section shall be punishable for
each violation with a minimum fine of $50 for each violation.

A. No person or organization shall be permitted or allowed
in or on Memorial Field, Back Beach Park, Lakeside Park, Addis Park,
Jaycee (Tremont) Park, Laurie Field or any other Borough of Wanaque
park or recreational field during the hours hereinafter set forth:
(1) During the period April 1 through October 31, from
10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
(2) During the period November 1 through March 31, from
7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
B. Persons or organizations shall be allowed to remain
in or on said Borough parks or fields beyond the time specified hereinabove,
providing permit therefor is applied for and given by the Wanaque
Recreation Commission or approved by the Business Administrator of
the Borough of Wanaque or is a part of a regularly scheduled Wanaque
Recreation Commission activity.

This chapter shall govern the following areas:
A. Back Beach Park (Back Beach Road).
B. Rainbow Valley Lake (Lake Washington).
C. Lakeside Park (Lakeside Avenue).
D. Addice Park (Meadowbrook Avenue).
E. Memorial Field (War Veterans Place).
F. Jaycee Park (Tremont Terrace).
G. Playground (Conklintown Road).
H. Lakeland Regional High School fields.
I. Wanaque School and Haskell School fields.

A. No person shall consume or offer to another for consumption
alcoholic beverages in or upon any public street, road, alley, sidewalk,
park or playground or in, on or upon any land or building owned or
occupied by any federal, state, county or municipal government or
subdivision or agency thereof or upon land or buildings owned or occupied
by any federal, state, county or municipal authority or in, on or
upon any place to which the public at large is generally invited.
B. No person shall have in his possession or possess
any alcoholic beverages on, in or upon any public street, road, alley,
sidewalk, park or playground or in, on or upon any land or building
owned or occupied by any federal, state, county or municipal government
or subdivision or agency thereof or upon land or buildings owned or
occupied by any federal, state, county or municipal authority or in,
on or upon any place to which the public at large is generally invited,
unless the same is contained within a closed or sealed container.
C. No person shall have in his possession or possess
any alcoholic beverages, consume or offer consumption of the same
to any person in and about any private property or quasi-public property
without the express permission of the owner thereof.
D. Nothing in Subsection
A,
B or
C shall be construed to prohibit the consumption or sale of alcoholic beverages within any premises licensed for the plenary retail consumption of intoxicating liquors or in any place for which a special permit for a social affair has been issued by the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control pursuant to its rules and regulations.

A. General provisions.
(1) Dog owners are responsible and liable for the actions and behavior
of their dogs at all times and may use the park only at their own
risk. The Borough of Wanaque will not provide supervision during dog
park operating hours.
(2) The park may be closed for maintenance without prior notice.
(3) Hours. Open during daylight hours or such other times as determined
by resolution of the Municipal Council.
(4) Dog tags are not transferable.
B. Pass required. The Wanaque Dog Park may only be used for dogs which
have been registered with the Clerk's office or have proof of
license from another municipality and have obtained a yearly Wanaque
Dog Park pass. The fee for a yearly dog park pass is $10 per household.
Proof of homeowner's/renter's insurance must be submitted
at time of registration. The owner or any individual responsible for
bringing a dog which does not have a pass to the dog park shall be
deemed in violation of this section and, upon conviction before the
Municipal Judge or another authorized judicial officer, be subject
to fines as defined and subject to the penalties indicated herein
and/or shall be subject to the revocation of their dog park pass.
C. Rules and regulations. The following rules and regulations shall
govern the use of the Wanaque Dog Park. Dog owners who fail to comply
with the above rules and regulations shall be deemed in violation
of this section and subject to the penalties indicated herein and/or
shall be subject to the revocation of their dog park pass:
(1) All dogs must have current rabies and distemper vaccinations. It
is recommended that dogs be on a flea or heartworm preventative medication.
(2) No dog that is ill may be brought to the park.
(3) All dogs must wear a valid license and a Wanaque Dog Park tag when
in the park.
(4) A limit of two dogs per adult may be brought to the park at one time.
(5) Dogs must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older at all times.
(6) Dogs must keep a leash until inside the gated area.
(7) No puppies younger than six months old are permitted in the park.
(8) No children under age eight shall be allowed inside the fenced area;
all children between the ages of eight and 18 are permitted inside
the fenced area only if accompanied by an adult.
(9) Owners are required to clean up after their dog.
(10) The owner must remove a dog from the park at the first sign of aggression.
Continued display of aggression by any dog may result in the loss
of membership.
(11) Female dogs must be spayed and male dogs neutered.
(12) All dog bites shall immediately be reported to the Wanaque Board
of Health.
(13) No food shall be allowed within the park (except water in plastic
bottles). Play items must be removed when leaving.
D. Violations and penalties. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this section shall upon conviction be subject to a fine of not
more than $200 and a revocation of their dog park pass to the dog
park for a period not to exceed 90 days for each offense.
