A. 
Additions. For BOCA Use Group B-Business (professional services, storage incidental to office use): Where a Use Group B fire area exceeds 1,500 square feet in area, an automatic fire suppression system shall be provided:
(1) 
“Throughout the entire story or floor level where the Use Group B is located;
(2) 
Throughout all intervening stories and floor levels below the Use Group B; and
(3) 
Throughout all intervening stories and floor levels between the B Use Group and the level of exit discharge at exits that serve the Use Group B fire area, including level of exit discharge..."
B. 
The following sections of the BOCA National Building Code, Thirteenth Edition, 1996, at 904 Fire Suppression Systems, are hereby revised as follows:

(1) 
904 Use Groups A-1, A-3 and A-4: "Where a Use Group A-1, A-3 or A-4 fire area exceeds [1,500 square feet] in area an automatic fire suppression system shall be provided as follows:..."
(2) 
904.3 Use Group A-2: "Where a Use Group A-2 fire area is more than [1,500 square feet] in area..."
(3) 
904.4 Use Group E: "An automatic fire suppression system shall be provided throughout all buildings having a Use Group E fire area which exceeds [1,500 square feet] in area."
(4) 
904.7 Use Groups M, S-1 and F-1: "Throughout all buildings with a Use Group M, S-1 or F-1 fire area, an automatic fire suppression system shall be provided as follows:
1.
Where any Use Group M, S-1 or F-1 fire area exceeds [1,500 square feet] in area;..."

Editor's Note: Section 4 of this ordinance provided "Other than those insertions and changes referenced in Section 1 above, all other parts of BOCA Section 904.0 Fire Suppression Systems, Chapter 165 of the Borough Code and Media Borough Ordinance No. 911 are preserved. Section 5 of this ordinance provided "Any violation of this article shall subject the property owner to a civil penalty of not more than $1,000 plus costs of prosecution."
