All users shall be classified by assigning each
one to a standard classification category according to the principal
activity conducted on his premises based on the typical wastewater
strength for that type of user as determined by the Authority. The
purpose of such classification is to facilitate the regulation of
wastewater discharges based on quality, quantity and flow to provide
an effective means of source control and to establish a system of
wastewater service charges and fees which will ensure an equitable
recovery of the Authority's cost. The elements of quality may include
but not be limited to the following: suspended solids, COD, oil and
grease and chlorine demand.
