The latest period of continuous employment of a participant by the Town subsequent to the date the employee agrees to contribute in accordance with §

Otherwise, credited service will commence when an employee agrees to contribute. Participants in the plan on January 1, 1989, will be given an additional six months' credited service. Absences from employment of less than five months in any calendar year and periods of authorized leave of absence for an employee or participant (except as otherwise provided in the case of Town officials in §

For the purpose of computations involving credited service, fractional parts of a year shall include all completed months of employment. In addition to the above, a participant's credited service will include any service from the latest period of continuous employment (including certain federal programs) for which the participant makes the additional contributions to buy back service in accordance with §
