The Town of Guilford, on the 14th day of February 1952,
shall apply for membership to participate in the Old Age and Survivors Insurance
System under Title II of the Social Security Act, as amended, in accordance
with Public Act No. 277 of 1951,[1] as of the first day of January 1952, for all its employees, with
the exception of those employees excluded by Section 3 of said Public Act
No. 277, and the Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to execute on behalf
and in the name of the Town of Guilford any and all agreements with the State
Retirement Commission for the aforesaid purpose, in accordance with and subject
to the provisions of said Public Act No. 277 and subject to the regulations
promulgated by the State Retirement Commission pursuant to said Public Act.
The Board of Selectmen and the Board of Education of
the Town of Guilford be and are hereby authorized and directed to make deductions
from the wages of the employees participating in the aforesaid Old Age and
Survivors Insurance System as required by Section 4 of said Public Act No.
277 and to forward the amount thereof together with the contribution of the
Town of Guilford to the State Retirement Commission in manner and form prescribed
by said regulations.
