Any person, firm or corporation or other entity who or which
shall violate a provision of the Building Code of the State of Connecticut
as it shall be in effect in the Town of Guilford or shall fail to
comply with any of the requirements thereof or shall erect, construct,
alter or repair a building or structure in violation of any approved
plan or directive of the Building Official or of a permit or a certificate
under the provisions of the Building Code of the State of Connecticut
as it shall be in effect in the Town of Guilford shall be punishable
as provided in Section 29-254a of the Connecticut General Statutes.
Every day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
Any person, firm, corporation or other entity who or which shall
continue any work in or about any building or structure after having
been served with a stop order pursuant to the terms of the Building
Code of the State of Connecticut, as it shall be in effect in the
Town of Guilford, except such work as he or she is directed to perform
to remove any violation or unsafe conditions, shall be liable for
a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $100. Each day that a violation
continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
