The purpose of this Part is to aid in the preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Township, and to help preserve the beauty of the public parks and other open spaces and other areas in the Township devoted to public use.
It shall be unlawful for any person to consume or be in possession of any alcoholic beverage in any public park, open space, playground or other public recreation area or other place within the Township of Bridgewater devoted to public use.

Notice of the acts prohibited in this matter shall be conspicuously posted in the public parks, open space, playgrounds and other public recreation areas affected by this chapter.
Any person who shall knowingly violate any of the provisions of this Part shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment for a term of not more than 90 days, or both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court.
