The provisions of this article imposing a time limit on parking shall not relieve any person of the duty to observe other and more restrictive provisions prohibiting or limiting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles as set forth in N.J.R.S. 39:4-138, any other New Jersey statute or as hereinafter provided.

A. 
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule I (§ 206-29) unless an appropriate and current parking permit, as issued by the Township of Bridgewater, is displayed on said vehicle for those streets or parts of streets as described or listed.
B. 
The following vehicles shall be exempt from this section:
(1) 
An emergency vehicle or public utility vehicle rendering service or repairs within the immediate area where parked.
(2) 
A vehicle operated by a contractor, service or delivery company registered to a commercial business that is providing a service or making a delivery to residents within the immediate area where parked.
(3) 
A vehicle with a temporary permit issued by the Chief of Police when warranted by special circumstances.

A. 
No operator of a motor vehicle shall stand or park the vehicle in any space designated for electric vehicle charging located on public property, unless the vehicle is an electric vehicle equipped to use the electric vehicle charging infrastructure located therein. Any motor vehicle standing or parking in any space designated for electric vehicle charging located on public property shall only remain in such space for such time as necessary to use the electric vehicle charging infrastructure located therein.
B. 
Use of electric vehicle parking spaces and charging stations shall be enforced by any Township police officer in accordance with this section. Violators of this section may be issued a fine of $50 and the vehicle may be towed to an impoundment lot at the owner’s expense and stored at the owner’s expense.
C. 
The Department of Engineering is hereby authorized to install appropriate signs regarding parking spaces for the exclusive use of recharging electric vehicles. Signs designating recharging electric vehicle parking shall indicate that unauthorized or improperly parked vehicles may be towed at the owner’s expense and the driver may be fined $50.

A. 
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule II, Subsection A (§ 206-30A), upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule II, Subsection A. The foregoing provisions shall not apply to Sundays and public holidays. Where Schedule II, Subsection A, specifically limits the regulation to school days, these provisions shall not apply on days when public schools are not in session.
B. 
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule II, Subsection B (§ 206-30B), upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule II, Subsection B, unless an appropriate and current parking permit, as issued by the Township of Bridgewater, is displayed on said vehicle for those streets or parts of streets as described or listed. The foregoing provisions shall not apply to Sundays and public holidays. Where Schedule II, Subsection B, specifically limits the regulation to school days, these provisions shall not apply on days when public schools are not in session.
C. 
No vehicle shall be parked on the streets or parts of streets designated in § 206-30B attached hereto and made a part of this chapter, during the hours designated in the schedule, Monday through Friday, unless:
(1) 
The vehicle is owned or operated on a regular basis by a resident of that street and the vehicle has displayed on its left rear window, in such a manner as to be accessible to visible examination by an officer, a current residential parking permit.
(2) 
The vehicle falls under one of the exceptions to the parking ban.
D. 
The following vehicles shall be exempt from this parking permit § 206-7B:
(1) 
Visitors. A vehicle displaying a current visitor parking permit may park on any of the controlled streets described on Schedule II, § 206-30B, provided that the operator of the vehicle is a bona fide guest of the residence within the permit parking area. The visitor's permit shall be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle in such a manner as to be clearly visible by an officer enforcing parking regulations.
(2) 
Contractors, service and delivery vehicles. Contractors, service and delivery vehicles bearing the name and address of a commercial business may park without a permit during the time they are rendering services to a residence within the permit parking area.
(3) 
Emergency vehicles. Emergency vehicles and public service, telephone and other public emergency vehicles may park within the permit parking area during the time they are rendering service or repairs within that area.
E. 
Administration. Application for parking permits under this § 206-7B shall be made in writing on forms provided by the Chief of Police or his designee. Permits shall be granted by the Chief of Police under the following terms and conditions:
(1) 
To persons who are residents on said street or portion thereof upon which parking is restricted by this section. A permanent permit, valid for one year, shall be issued for every vehicle owned or principally operated by such person. There shall be no limit on the number of permits which may be issued to any one household. In the event a structure on said street or portion thereof upon which parking is restricted by this section shall contain a nonresidential use, then said nonresidential use shall be limited to two permits.
(2) 
Two visitor permits shall be issued to each residential unit on any street or portion thereof upon which parking is restricted by this section for use only by visitors to that residential unit.
F. 
Violations. It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this section for any person to:
(1) 
Cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in his name or operated by such person to be parked in any of the areas designated in Schedule II, Subsection B, § 206-30B, as established as a decal parking zone as herein described unless said vehicle displays a proper and current decal in accordance with this § 206-7B.
(2) 
Willfully defraud, misuse or improperly obtain any decal so that the decal is used for a vehicle or person not entitled to use that decal as described under the provisions of this section.
G. 
Violations and penalties.
(1) 
Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions as set forth therein shall be deemed guilty of an offense and shall be punished by a fine of $10. This fine shall be increased by the sum of $1 per violation with such other sum as may be charged by the State of New Jersey for the automated traffic system, and this increased fine shall continue for so long as this is imposed by the State of New Jersey upon the Township of Bridgewater.
(2) 
Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with provisions of § 206-7 F as set forth therein or who aids or abets any such violation or failure to comply with that section shall be deemed guilty of an offense and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $500 or by imprisonment not to exceed 30 days, either or both of those penalties to be imposed at the discretion of the court.
H. 
Permit parking.
(1) 
A decal is to be displayed, in accordance with § 206-7B, during the following hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. when schools are in session.
(2) 
In accordance with § 206-7B, no person shall park a vehicle without a permit during the above times, except as exempted in Subsection D hereof on any of the streets or parts of streets delineated in § 206-30B, Schedule II, Subsection B.

No person shall stop or stand a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule III (§ 206-31) upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule III.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule IV (§ 206-32) at any time between the hours listed in Schedule IV upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule IV. The foregoing provisions shall not apply to Sundays and public holidays.
