A.
(1)
Require the production of the drawings and specifications
of a building or any part thereof, including any drawings prescribed
by the regulations, for his inspection and may require information
from any person concerning any matter related to a building or part
thereof.
(2)
Be accompanied by any person who has special or expert
knowledge of any matter in relation to a building or part thereof.
(3)
Alone or in conjunction with such other person or
persons possessing special or expert knowledge, make such examinations,
tests, inquiries or, subject to the provisions of this chapter, take
such samples or photographs as are necessary for the purposes of the
inspection.
(4)
Order any person responsible for the construction
to take and supply at his own expense such tests and samples as are
specified in the order of such Inspector or Chief Official.
B.
Where an Inspector or Chief Official takes a sample
under this section, the Inspector shall divide the sample into two
parts and deliver one part to the person from whom the sample is taken,
if the person so requests at the time the sample is taken and provides
the necessary facilities.
C.
Where an Inspector or Chief Official takes a sample
under this section and has not divided the sample into two parts,
a copy of any report on the sample shall be given to the person from
whom the sample was taken.
D.
An Inspector or Chief Official shall not enter any
room or place actually being used as a dwelling without the consent
of the occupier except under the authority of a search warrant.
