The companies shall, so often as any fire shall
break out, report immediately upon alarm thereof to their respective
quarters and conduct their respective apparatus to the place where
the fire shall occur, unless otherwise directed by the Chief or other
officer who may be in charge, and, upon such direction, they shall
return their apparatus to quarters.
The Chief shall call one or more companies of
the Department out for practice drill, and the Chief may, whenever
he or she deems it necessary, call out any or all such companies for
such drills when and where he or she may think it advisable. Each
company, however, shall be drilled and trained not less than once
each month.
For the purpose of establishing a complete record
of membership in the possession of the Borough Clerk, the Chief shall
annually file with the Borough Clerk a duly verified list and report,
under oath, of all active members of the companies under his or her
control and supervision, which list shall set forth the name and residence
of each such fire fighter, whether a citizen of the United States,
whether of good moral character, the date of becoming a fire fighter,
the age at that time, the company of which he or she is a member and
the percentage of fire duty performed during that year by each fire
fighter.
An exempt fire fighter certificate shall be
issued to any member of the Fire Department who has served seven years
in active duty under municipal control as required by law. The certificate
shall indicate the percentage of duty performed each year and shall
be signed by the Mayor and the Chief of the Fire Department and attested
to by the Borough Clerk.
