Borough Council of Pleasant Hills hereby authorizes any uniformed police officer of the Pleasant Hills Police Department to order the evacuation of all persons from any building or structure located within the Borough of Pleasant Hills when the Pleasant Hills Police Department is made aware of any bomb threat, fire threat or other similar type threat against said building or structure.
The police officers of the Pleasant Hills Police Department may order such evacuation when they reasonably believe that such bomb threat, fire threat or other similar type threat exists. The police officer, while acting under authority of this chapter, shall not thereby be rendered liable personally for ordering such evacuation even if the said bomb threat, fire threat or other similar type threat proves to be false.
Any person who shall disregard or refuse to obey an evacuation order given by a uniformed police office of the Borough of Pleasant Hills shall, upon conviction before the District Justice for the Borough of Pleasant Hills, be sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding $500.
