There is hereby adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Limerick Township a code of conduct and disciplinary standards for police officers, setting forth rules and regulations for the administration of conduct and disciplinary procedures of police officers, creating disciplinary standards and a standard table of punishment and establishing departmental disciplinary procedures, hereinafter known as the "Limerick Township Police Code of Conduct," of which not less than three copies have been and now are filed in the office of the Township Secretary, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and, from the date on which this article shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the conduct and disciplinary procedures of all police officers of Limerick Township.
There is hereby established a code of conduct for police officers, which shall consist of a manual of rules and regulations containing definitions, command and supervisory responsibilities and authority, rules and regulations for the conduct of all members, departmental discipline procedures and a standards table of punishment.
Nothing in this article or in the code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding now pending in any court or any rights acquired or liability incurred nor any cause or causes of action accrued or existing under any act or ordinance repealed hereby, nor shall any right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this article.
