It is hereby adopted in its entirety, subject to modifications and amendments hereinafter provided by the Township, copies of which are on file in the Limerick Township Administration Building, that certain International Fire Code, known as the International Fire Code, 2018 Edition, as published by the International Code Council, Inc., and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length herein and the standards and terms of said code are incorporated herein as if fully set forth at length. Three copies are on file in the Limerick Township Administration Building located at 646 West Ridge Pike, Limerick, Pennsylvania, being marked and designated as the International Fire Code, 2018 Edition, as published by the International Code Council, which is hereby adopted as the Fire Code of Limerick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, for regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from storage, handling, and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees as set forth under the Limerick Township Fee Schedule; and each and all of regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of said Fire Code on file in the Limerick Township Administration Building are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions, and changes, if any, prescribed in § 84-2 of this chapter.
The International Fire Code, 2018 Edition, as published by the International Code Council, is hereby revised as follows:
A. 
The International Fire Code § 101.1, is supplemented to read: "The Township of Limerick."
B. 
The notice of violation and the penalties, fines, and appeals as referenced in the Fire Code § 109 (Board of Appeals), § 110 (Violations), and § 112.4 (related to Stop Work Orders), shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Second Class Township Code and the Limerick Township Code, Chapter 70, Code Enforcement, that are in effect at the time of the violation.
C. 
The Fire Code § 5704.2.9.6.1 is supplemented to read: "The Storage of Class I and II liquids in the aboveground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited in all residential districts."
D. 
The Fire Code § 5706.2.4.4 is supplemented to read: "The Storage of Class I and II liquids in the aboveground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited in all residential districts."
E. 
The Fire Code § 5806.2 is supplemented to read: "The storage of flammable cryogenic fluids in stationary containers outside of buildings is prohibited in all residential districts."
F. 
The Fire Code § 6104.2 is supplemented to read: "The storage of liquefied petroleum gas for the protection of heavily populated or congested areas, the aggregate capacity of any one installation shall not exceed a water capacity of 2,000 gallons (7,570 liters) in all residential districts."
G. 
The following Appendixes of the International Fire Code, 2018 Edition (or applicable iteration), are specifically adopted:
(1) 
Appendix C: Fire Hydrant Locations and Distribution;
(2) 
Appendix D: Fire Apparatus Access Roads;
(3) 
Appendix E: Hazard Categories;
(4) 
Appendix H: Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP) and Hazardous Materials Inventory Statement (HMIS) Instructions.
H. 
The Fire Code § 107 (Inspections) is supplemented to add Subsection 5 to read: "107.5 Fire Safety Inspection Program. Inspections are required annually for all tenant spaces in a commercial occupancy." If entry to the premises or common area is denied to the Code Enforcement Officer, the Code Enforcement Officer may apply to the appropriate authority for an administrative search warrant.
I. 
The International Fire Code § 104.10 (Fire Investigations) is supplemented to add Subsection 2 to read: "Investigations shall be conducted in accordance with NFPA 921 of 2021 and NFPA 901 of 2021 to the maximum extent practical."
