Any grass, weeds or other vegetation growing upon any premises in the Township in violation of any of the provisions of §§ 57-2 and 57-3 of this chapter is hereby declared to be a nuisance and detrimental to the health, safety, cleanliness and comfort of the inhabitants of the Township.

Every person, firm or corporation owning or occupying any property within the Township of Limerick shall cut or remove or cause to be cut or removed grass or weeds or any vegetation whatsoever not edible or planted for some useful or ornamental purpose in excess of six inches in height; provided, however, that this requirement shall not apply to land used for agricultural purposes, environmentally sensitive lands which are protected under Zoning Code § 184-81 (including steep slopes; woodlands; floodplains, shorelines, watercourses and other riparian corridors) or land not located within 50 feet of a road or other property line of premises used for residential, commercial or industrial purposes.

No person, firm or corporation owning or occupying any property within the Township of Limerick shall permit any grass or weeds or any vegetation whatsoever to grow or remain upon such premises so as to exceed a height of six inches within a triangle measuring 75 feet in either direction from the point of intersection of the street center lines.
Complaints of violations of §§ 57-2 and 57-3 of this chapter shall be submitted, in writing, to the Township Manager and must include an accurate location of the property in violation.
The Board of Supervisors or the Code Enforcement Officer of the Township is hereby authorized to give notice, by personal service or by the United States Mail, to the owner or occupant, as the case may be, of the premises whereon brush, grass, weeds and other vegetation is growing or remaining in violation of the provisions of §§ 57-2 and 57-3 of this chapter, directing and requiring the owner or such occupant, as the case may be, to remove, trim or cut such brush, grass, weeds or vegetation, so as to conform to the requirements of this chapter, within seven days of issuance of such notice. In case any person, firm or corporation shall neglect, fail or refuse to comply with such notice, within the period of time stated therein, the Township authorities may remove, trim or cut such brush, grass, weeds or vegetation, and the cost thereof, together with any additional penalty authorized by law, may be collected by the Township from such person, firm or corporation in the manner provided by law.
Any person, firm or corporation who or which shall violate or fail, neglect or refuse to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 30 days. Each day's violation shall constitute a separate offense, and notice to the offender shall not be necessary in order to constitute an offense.
