The purpose, function and responsibility of
the ambulance officers shall be:
A. Captain.
(1) Responsible for the general distribution, collection
and submission of the various forms, reports and monthly call sheets
to the Fire Chief's office.
(2) General management and supervision of the Ambulance
Corps.
(3) Arbitrate all problems and situations that are brought
to his attention by the Lieutenants of the two ambulance stations.
If further consultation is required, the Fire Chief's office will
be contacted.
(4) Act as liaison between the Fire Chief's office and
the Ambulance Corps.
B. Lieutenants.
(1) Responsible for the general upkeep, maintenance and
appearance of the ambulance of his station.
(2) Overall supervision and direction of the ambulance
and its crew at his station.
C. Foreman.
(1) Responsible for the patient-related supplies, equipment
and the inventory.
(2) Assist the Lieutenant in the general maintenance of
the ambulance.
D. Training Officer.
(1) Responsible for the accurate recordkeeping of the
various qualifications of the ambulance crewmen. He or she will notify
each crew member when the various qualifications of that individual
will expire.
(2) Set up all training for ambulance personnel in regards
to CPR, Red Cross or any other renewal that is necessary.
(3) Interview all new ambulance personnel; audit and record
the training level of the individual.
(4) Responsible for the setting up of all training sessions
on a local level and the posting thereof in the respective stations.
(5) All communications from the Training Officer must
have the endorsement of the Ambulance Corps and the Fire Chief's office
before said communications are posted and/or distributed, except the
notices of training sessions or directives to the general Ambulance
Corps.
A. All requests for equipment, supplies, out-of-town
training with vehicles and any suggestions to changes in the above-listed
rules and regulations will and must be forwarded to the Captain. He
will in turn set his endorsement to the request and forward same to
the Fire Chief's office. Any requests made directly to Borough Council
will be referred back to the Ambulance Captain through the Fire Chief's
office and the Fire Committee.
B. Any suspension of ambulance personnel will be handled
through the directives. Rules and regulations in regards to discipline
and final decision and letter of communication to the accused individual
will be handled by the Borough Council and Borough Secretary.
C. Any disagreements between the two ambulance stations
will be brought to the attention of the Captain, who in turn will
consult the Fire Chief's office, if necessary.
