A. 
No person owning, harboring or having the control or custody of a horse or pony shall be permitted to do so unless such a person owns or rents property of not less than five acres.
B. 
A barn, stable, corral or enclosure of any type erected on such property to harbor or keep a horse or pony must be at least 200 feet from any side or back yard setback and may be constructed or erected on such property in the backyard area specifically to the rear of the main residence after a permit has been duly issued by the Building Inspector.
C. 
A resident of the Village of Belle Terre who owns or harbors a horse or pony on his property at the time of the adoption of this Article must apply to the Board of Appeals for a nonconforming use permit to continue to own or harbor the same animal. This permit must be renewed every two years. The above permit will be issued or renewed to said applicant at no fee.
A. 
No chickens, ducks, poultry, rabbits, pigeons, reptiles, rodents, livestock or other such animals shall be maintained in the Village of Belle Terre.
B. 
A resident of the Village of Belle Terre who owns or harbors any of the above-described animals prior to the adoption of this Article must apply to the Board of Appeals for a nonconforming use permit to continue to own or harbor such animals that exist at the time of application for a nonconforming use permit. The above permit will be issued or renewed to said applicant at no fee.
The violation of any provision of this Article shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
