It shall be unlawful and it is hereby prohibited for any person or persons, except in defense of person or property, to discharge any shotgun, rifle, gun, pistol, revolver, or other firearms in the pursuit of game, target practice, or for the purpose of amusement for himself or others within the limits of the said Borough of Parkside.
It shall be unlawful and it is hereby prohibited for any person or persons, except in defense of person or property, to discharge any compound bow, within the limits of the said Borough of Parkside.
Nothing in this chapter shall make it unlawful for any person to use or have in his possession any air rifle or air gun in the Borough of Parkside, if it is used:
A. 
By and/or under the supervision, guidance and instruction of a responsible adult; and
B. 
In or on any private grounds or residence under circumstances when such air rifle can be fired, discharged or operated in such a manner as not to endanger persons or property, and then only if it is used in such manner as to prevent the projectile from traversing any grounds or space outside the limits of such grounds or residence.
Any Borough police officer is hereby authorized to seize and impound any shotgun, rifle, gun, pistol, revolver, pellet gun, BB gun, firearm or compound bow which is used in violation of the foregoing provisions. Police officers shall be prohibited from seizing other weapons that are on the premises and not used in direct violation of the foregoing provisions.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a fine as outlined below:
A. 
Discharge of an air rifle or air gun: fine of up to $200 plus cost of prosecution.
B. 
Discharge of a shotgun, rifle, gun, pistol, revolver, pellet gun, BB gun, compound bow, or other firearms: fine of up to $600 plus cost of prosecution.
Any weapon seized or impounded by a Borough police officer pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be returned to the property owner when so directed by a court of competent jurisdiction.
