A. 
A general election for the elective officers of the City shall be held on the first (1st) Tuesday in April of each year.
B. 
On the first (1st) Tuesday in April of even numbered years an election shall be held by the qualified voters of each Ward in the City for Mayor and one (1) Alderman from each Ward, who shall hold their respective offices for the term of two (2) years and until their successors shall be elected and qualified.
C. 
On the first (1st) Tuesday in April of odd numbered years an election shall be held by the qualified voters of each Ward of this City for one (1) Alderman for each Ward, who shall hold their respective offices for the term of two (2) years and until their successors shall be elected and qualified.

Any person desiring to seek election to an elective City office at any general City election may do so by filing his/her name and the office for which he/she seeks election with the City Clerk between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on the sixteenth (16th) Tuesday prior to the general City election and the closing date shall be the eleventh (11th) Tuesday prior to the day of the general City election. The Clerk shall keep a permanent record of the candidates, the offices for which they seek election and the date of their filing, and their names shall appear on the ballots in that order.

Any person who is not qualified for his/her office as provided by this Code or other ordinances shall not be entitled to have his/her name printed on the ballot. The qualifications of a candidate for office shall be determined by the Board of Aldermen upon hearing given, and upon its own motion, or upon written affidavit by some person that a named candidate is not qualified as such for the office sought.

All City elections shall be conducted and held in conformance with the provisions of Chapter 115, RSMo.

In City elections conducted by the Election Authority, the City Clerk shall notify the County Clerk prior to 5:00 P.M. on the eighth (8th) Tuesday prior to any City election of the forthcoming City election. The notice shall be in writing, and shall specify that the City is calling the election, the purpose of the election, the date of the election, and shall include a certified copy of the legal notice to be published and the sample ballot.

Ward One. This voting ward would include the entire area bound by the intersection of Minter Road and AA Highway, east to Sni-A-Bar Road (SAB), continuing southeast along SAB to the intersection of SAB and Buckner-Tarsney Road, south along Buckner-Tarsney Road to the intersection of Buckner-Tarsney Road and Ryan Road, west along Ryan Road to include property inside Grain Valley (City) City limits south of Ryan Road (see attachment on file in the City offices), continuing west along Ryan Road to the intersection of Ryan Road and Minter Road, north along Minter Road and close at the intersection of Minter Road and AA Highway.
B. 
Ward Two. This voting ward would include the entire area bound by the intersection of AA Highway and SAB, west along AA Highway, including the area south of AA Highway and to the west City boundary as indicated in the illustration on file in the City offices, north along the west City boundary to U.S. 40 Highway, east along U.S. 40 Highway to the intersection of U.S. 40 Highway and Buckner-Tarsney Road and U.S. Interstate 70 Highway (I-70), follow I-70 east the eastern City boundary at Stillhouse Road as indicated in the illustration on file in the City offices, south to the intersection of Stillhouse Road and Old U.S. 40 Highway, west along Old U.S. 40 Highway to the intersection of Old U.S. 40 Highway and Buckner-Tarsney Road, south along Buckner-Tarsney Road to the intersection of Buckner-Tarsney Road and SAB, west and northwest along SAB and close at the intersection of SAB and AA Highway.
C. 
Ward Three. This voting ward would include the entire area bound by the intersection of Barr Road and U.S. 40 Highway, north along Barr Road to the intersection of Barr Road and RD Mize Road, west along RD Mize Road to the intersection RD Mize Road and Pavilion Drive, north along the west City boundary across I-70 to Jefferson Road, east along Jefferson Road to the intersection of Jefferson Road and Tyer Road, north along Tyer Road to the City boundary indicated on the illustration on file in the City offices, east along the City boundary to the western property line of the Woodbury residential development, north along this property line to Duncan Road, west along Duncan Road to the intersection of Duncan Road and Tyer Road, north along Tyer Road to the City boundary indicated on the illustration on file in the City offices, east along this boundary to the western property line of the Whispering Park development, north along this property line to the north property line of the same development, east along this property line to Dillingham Road, north along Dillingham Road to the north property line of the Rosewood Hills development, east along this north property line to the east property line of the same development, south along this property line to Duncan Road, east along Duncan Road to the intersection of Duncan Road and Buckner-Tarsney Road, south along Buckner-Tarsney to City boundary north of I-70, as indicated in illustration on file in the City offices, east along City boundary paralleling I-70 to Stillhouse Road south to I-70, west along I-70 to the intersection of I-70 and Buckner-Tarsney Road and U.S. 40 Highway, southwest along U.S. 40 Highway and close at the intersection of U.S. 40 Highway and Barr Road.
