The Mayor with the advice of the
Board of Aldermen may appoint a City Collector. No person shall be
City Collector unless he/she is at least twenty-one (21) years of
age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the City at
the time of his/her appointment.

The Collector shall, before entering
upon the duties of the office, take and subscribe an oath or affirmation
that he/she possesses all the qualifications prescribed for the office
by law, and that he/she will support the constitution of the United
States and of this State, the provisions of all laws of this State
affecting cities of the fourth class and this Code and other ordinances
of this City, and faithfully demean himself/herself in office.

The Collector shall perform all the
duties specified in this Code and shall perform such other duties
as may be directed by the Mayor.
