Proposals for active membership must be in writing, on a form
provided by the organization, must be signed by the applicant and
by one active member, and must be presented to the Secretary. An application
fee of $10 must accompany each application, such fee to cover the
dues of the applicant until the next annual meeting.
After a proposal for active membership shall have been read
and entered on the minutes, the application must be tabled until the
next regular meeting. Membership in this Company shall be limited
to 125 active members. If there exists a vacancy in the membership,
the President shall order a vote on the application. Each member not
wishing to vote should rise and ask to be excused from voting. Vote
must be taken by ballot box and 2/3 of favorable ballot of members
participating in the balloting will be necessary for an election to
active membership. If no vacancy exists in the membership, the application
shall remain tabled until such time as there is a vacancy.
New members must live in the corporate Village of Boonville.
New members must serve a one-year probation period from date of ballot.
New members are required to attend an essentials of firemanship (EF)
course during the probation period and/or the first EF course available.
Probation acceptance shall be approved by the Board of Directors on
recommendation of the Chief and First and Second Assistant Department
Chiefs.
