No more than three dogs over the age of three months shall be allowed in each household.
No more than three dogs over the age of three months shall be kept, harbored, maintained, exhibited or displayed less than a distance of 25 feet from the adjoining premises nor within a lesser distance than 25 feet of a public highway, street, thoroughfare or public building and should be surrounded by a fence no less than six feet in height. Such enclosures, shelters or coops must be kept thoroughly clean at all times and open to inspection at all times by the Board or its agents. Such shelters shall be cleaned at least once a week and more often if the Board or its agents shall so require.
No person shall keep, harbor or maintain any dog which habitually barks or cries or which, by frequent barking, disturbs the peace and quiet of the neighborhood and creates a nuisance thereby.

A. 
No rabbits, hares, guinea pigs or similar animals shall be kept or permitted to be kept in the Borough of Maywood for the purpose of breeding or selling.
B. 
No chicken hens shall be kept or permitted to be kept in the Borough of Maywood for the purpose of breeding or selling.
C. 
No person shall keep, raise, breed or sell any roosters in the Borough of Maywood.
D. 
No person shall keep, raise, breed or sell any sheep or goat in the Borough of Maywood.
E. 
No person shall keep, raise, breed or sell any skunk, mink or fox in the Borough of Maywood.

A. 
Permit required. No establishment, shelter or business shall be maintained for the purpose of selling or raising for sale any animal as pets or for other uses in the Borough unless a permit for that purpose has been obtained from the Board of Health, and all animals shall be kept in a suitable shelter, cages, coops or tanks. Such facilities must be kept thoroughly clean and open to inspection at all times by the Board or its agents.
B. 
Restrictions on the sale of animals.
(1) 
A pet shop may offer for sale only those dogs and cats that the pet shop has obtained from or displays in cooperation with:
(a) 
An animal care facility or animal control center or animal shelter, maintained by or under contract with any state, county, or municipality, whose mission and practice is, in whole, or significant part, the rescue and placement of animals in permanent homes or rescue organizations; or
(b) 
An animal rescue organization or other type of not-for-profit organization which has tax-exempt status under § 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code, whose mission and practice is, in whole or in significant part, the rescue and placement of animals in permanent homes.
(2) 
A pet shop shall not offer for sale a dog or cat that is younger than eight weeks old.
No person shall engage in the business of slaughtering, killing or dressing poultry or small animals in the borough.
