Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:0-135 et seq., there is hereby created the position of Deputy Town Clerk.
The Deputy Town Clerk shall be appointed by the Mayor and Council. The Deputy Town Clerk shall be appointed for a term of one year to commence on the first day of January of each year.
The Deputy Town Clerk shall perform such duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Town Clerk, the Mayor and Council and/or the Town Administrator. During the absence or disability of the Town Clerk, the Deputy Town Clerk shall have all the powers of the Town Clerk and shall perform the functions and duties of such office.
The salary of the Deputy Town Clerk shall be as set forth in the annual Salary Ordinance.
