§ 20-2006 Violation of ordinances

1. The Board of Trustees of
a village may enforce obedience to its ordinances and local laws adopted
prior to September 1, 1974, and to its local laws adopted thereafter
as follows:

a. By prescribing therefor
fines for each violation thereof not to exceed $250.

b. By prescribing therefor
that for each violation thereof it shall constitute a violation pursuant
to the Penal Law. However, in no case shall the fine imposed exceed
$250 for each separate violation, and each day a violation is continued
shall constitute a separate violation so as to subject the violator
to a fine of up to $250 for each separate violation, provided that
a separate summons or appearance ticket is issued and served for each
such day.

c. In all cases, the Board
of Trustees may enforce obedience of its ordinances by injunction.
