Pursuant to
powers guaranteed by the Pennsylvania Constitution and granted by
the General Assembly of Pennsylvania in the Home Rule Charter and
Optional Plans Law as codified at 53 Pa.C.S. § 2901 et seq.,
the residents of Bristol Township, Bucks County, have elected to be
governed pursuant to the Optional Plan of Government designated as
the Council-Manager Plan, commencing January 2, 2012.
This chapter
is hereby adopted by the Council as the Administrative Code of the
Township to effectuate such adoption and to provide the residents
of Bristol Township, a progressive, efficient, economical and responsive
government.
It is the
purpose and intent of this chapter, in keeping with the Home Rule
Charter and Optional Plans Law, to permit the broadest powers of local
self-government consistent with the Constitution of the United States
and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and with the Charter Law itself;
and the provisions of this chapter are intended to be read and interpreted
in accordance with such purpose.
This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the “Administrative
Code of the Township of Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.”
