A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the Bristol Township Municipal Building, County of Bucks, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, being marked and designated as the “International Fire Code 2018 Edition” and all future published editions, is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the Township of Bristol, Bucks County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and for each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said International Fire Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made part hereof, as if fully set out in this article, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in § 106-11.
A. 
The International Fire Code is amended and changed in the following respects:
(1) 
F-101.1 is amended to read as follows:
F-101.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the “Fire Code of Bristol Township,” hereinafter referred to as “this code.”
(2) 
Section F 103.1 is added to read as follows:
F-103.1 General. The Office of the Fire Marshal is established within the Jurisdiction under the direction of the Fire Marshal. The function of the department shall be the implementation, administration and enforcement of the provisions of this code.
F-103.3 Deputy: The Fire Marshal is authorized to designate a Fire Inspector as Deputy Fire Marshal, who shall assist the Fire Marshal as necessary.
F-103.3.1 Assistant Fire Marshals: who shall be chiefs and deputy chief of each of the Township fire companies. The Assistant Fire Marshal may act in this capacity only upon direction of the Fire Marshal.
(3) 
Section 503 is amended to read as follows:
503.4.1. Enforcement: The Fire Marshal, Deputy Fire Marshal, and Fire Inspectors shall have the authority to issue Township parking citations for violations for the parking of vehicles and other obstructions in designated fire lanes and fire access roads.
(4) 
Section 508 is amended by the addition of the following:
508.5.4.1. The Fire Marshal, Deputy Fire Marshal, and Fire Inspectors shall have the authority to issue Township parking citations for the parking of vehicles and other obstructions in front of fire hydrants.
(5) 
Section 903 is amended to read as follows:
903.2.1.1. Group A-1. An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided for Group A-1 occupancies where one of the following conditions exist:
1. The fire area exceeds 8,000 square feet;
2. The fire area has an occupant load of 300 or more;
3. The fire area is located on a floor other than the level of exit discharge; or
4. The fire area contains a multi-theater complex.
903.2.1.3. Group A-3. An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided for Group A-3 occupancies where one of the following conditions exist:
1. The fire area exceeds 8,000 square feet;
2. The fire area has an occupant load of 300 or more; or
3. The fire area is located on a floor other than the level of exit discharge.
903.2.3. Group F-1. An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided throughout all buildings containing a Group F-1 occupancy where one of the following conditions exist:
1. Where a Group F-1 fire area exceeds 8,000 square feet;
2. Where a Group F-1 fire area is located more than three stories above grade; or
3. Where the combined area of all Group F-1 fire areas on all floors, including any mezzanines, exceeds 24,000 square feet.
903.2.6. Group M. An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided throughout buildings containing a Group M occupancy where one of the following conditions exist:
1. Where a Group M fire area exceeds 8,000 square feet;
2. Where a Group M fire area is located more than three stories above grade; or
3. Where the combined area of all Group M fire areas on all floors, including any mezzanines, exceeds 24,000 square feet.
B. 
The revisions contained in subsection A of this section have section numbers that correspond to the 2003 Edition. In the event the section number of a provision amended herein is changed in a subsequent edition, the amended language shall remain in full force and effect as if the new section number were included above.
