Editor's Note: Original § 109-0 provided the
following legislative intent: "In order to achieve a more satisfactory
method of customer service, the Town Board shall require self-service
laundries to post signs containing price and refund information."
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any individual, firm, partnership, corporation, association,
company or organization of any kind.
Includes all laundromats and any apartment building with
two or more washing machines or clothes dryers.
All self-service laundromats shall be required to post a sign
with dimensions no less than 24 inches by 36 inches. This sign shall
list the owner's name and address and shall give the price for
the use of the washer and dryer, the cycle time per unit of payment
and the method of refund if the coins are lost in the machines, including
a telephone number or address to contact for refund. Information for
the method of refund shall read as follows: "If coins are lost in
the coin receptacle of the washer or dryer, contact (insert the name
and address or telephone number of a person designated by the owner
of the self-service laundromat to contact for refund)."
The sign described in § 109-2 shall be prominently displayed in a clearly visible area of the self-service laundromat.
A.
Any person committing an offense against this chapter or any section
or provision thereof shall be guilty of a violation punishable by
a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment for a period not exceeding
15 days for each such offense, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
B.
Each day that such offense shall continue shall constitute a separate
additional violation.
