No minor under the age of 18 years (such persons being defined for the purposes of this section as juveniles) shall be or remain in or upon any street, sidewalk, park, public building, place of amusement and entertainment or other public place in the Borough between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (prevailing time) on Sunday evening to Monday morning, Monday evening to Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning, Wednesday evening to Thursday morning, and Thursday evening to Friday morning, and between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (prevailing time) on Friday evening to Saturday morning and Saturday evening to Sunday morning, unless such juvenile is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the juvenile or unless the juvenile is performing an emergency errand and/or legitimate business directed by or approved by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the juvenile.
The provisions of § 131-1 hereof shall not apply to married persons under the age of 18 who are upon any street, sidewalk or public thoroughfare in the Borough.
No parent, guardian or other person having the legal care or custody of any child, ward or other person under the age of 18 years shall allow or permit any such child, ward or other person, while in such legal custody, to violate the provisions of § 131-1 hereof.
Any police officer of the Borough who finds a juvenile violating the provisions of § 131-1 hereof shall obtain information from such juvenile as to his or her name, address, age and the name of his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the legal custody of such juvenile. The juvenile shall thereupon be issued a citation and instructed to proceed to his or her home forthwith. The information obtained from the juvenile shall be forwarded to the Police Department, which shall cause a written notice to be mailed to the parent, guardian or other adult person having legal custody of the juvenile advising such person of the violation of § 131-1 hereof.
No person shall aid or abet the violation of any of the provisions of this chapter by a juvenile and/or his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having legal custody of such juvenile.
Police officers of the Borough, in taking juveniles into custody under this chapter, shall use their discretion in determining age and identity. In doubtful cases, they may require positive proof, and until such proof is furnished, the officer's judgment shall prevail.
No parent, guardian or other adult person having the legal custody of a juvenile shall be convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter unless he or she has received notice of a prior violation.

Whoever violates any of the provisions of § 131-1 shall be fined not less than $100 nor more than $1,000 for the first offense and not less than $300 nor more than $1,000 for the second and each subsequent offense in any three-hundred-sixty five-day period.
