The Board of Supervisors of Limerick Township, Montgomery County, by and through the Chairman and Secretary, is hereby authorized and empowered, pursuant to the terms and provisions of the General Municipal Law and the Second Class Township Code as established in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to enter into an intergovernmental cooperation agreement establishing a police emergency response team to be known as "Montgomery County S.W.A.T. - Western Region" for the purpose of providing additional police protection for the citizens of Limerick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in accordance with the proposed agreement form attached hereto and marked "Exhibit A,"[1] the terms and provisions of which are incorporated herein by reference and are intended to comply with the requirements of 53 Pa.C.S.A. § 2301 et seq. Any amendments to said agreement and/or ordinance relative to the same, whenever agreed upon between the respective municipalities, shall be consistent with the requirements of the General Municipal Law and are hereby authorized and shall be binding upon the respective municipalities to the same extent and with the same effect as if such amendments had been a part of the original agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A. The governmental police action of the foregoing municipalities prior to the effective date of this article is hereby ratified and confirmed by this article as if the same was authorized by ordinance.

The condition of this agreement, the duration of the term of this agreement, the purpose and objectives of the agreement, the manner and extent of financing the agreement, the organizational structure necessary to implement the agreement and the manner in which property, real or personal, shall be acquired, managed or disposed of shall be the same as those set forth in the proposed written agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A[1] and shall be incorporated herein by reference to the same extent as if specifically set forth herein.
