This chapter shall not be construed to relieve from or lessen
the responsibility of any party owning, operating, controlling or
installing any electric wiring, electric devices or electric equipment
for damages to person or property caused by any defect therein, nor
shall the Town be held as assuming any such liability by reason of
the inspection authorized herein, or certificate of approval issued
or endorsed as herein provided.
If any Article, section, paragraph, subdivision, clause or provision
of this chapter shall be adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall
apply only to the Article, section, paragraph, subdivision, clause
or provision so adjudged and the rest of this chapter shall remain
valid and effective.
Any person or corporation violating any provision of this chapter
shall be subject to a penalty in an amount not exceeding $100 for
such offense. In addition to the penalty, the violation of any provision
of this chapter shall constitute disorderly conduct, and the person
or corporation violating the same shall be a disorderly person.
This chapter shall take effect 10 days after publication and
posting thereof as required by law.
