Garbage and trash shall be placed in tightly covered containers not to exceed a size of 32 gallons and to weigh no more than 40 pounds.
Garbage and trash containers must be kept inside of a fence line or suitable enclosure at all times except for 12 hours before pickup.
Containers of garbage and trash shall be placed at curbside or as close as possible to curbside. Where pickups are made in alleys, containers of garbage and trash shall be placed to the side of the alley and not on the street side of houses.
Items such as stones, dirt, tires, batteries, tree branches, building material, remains of demolition, large household appliances, brush, twigs and similar items shall not be placed in garbage and trash containers. Such items are to be disposed of by the individual owner or tenant.
This article shall apply in its entirety to single-family and apartment dwellings. Section 174-4 shall pertain to all single-family dwellings, apartments and businesses.

The owner of any property within the Village of Waterford, regardless of whether said owner is an occupant of said property, shall be responsible for any violations occurring on the property by reason of the conduct of any tenant of the property.

Violation of any provision of this article shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $250.
