Hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person to erect or any property owner to permit to remain erected on his or her or its property, a basketball pole, hoop, basket or other device within or abutting the edge of any public highway, roadway or street in the Township or attach a hoop, basket or other device to a telephone or other pole located outside the roadway so that such hoop, basket or device extends over the roadway.
Basketball backboards and other similar structures or objects are prohibited from being attached or affixed to any public or private telephone, electric, light or utility pole, trees or similar structures located within or abutting the Township's streets, roadways and rights-of-way or being erected in any manner within or abutting any Township or state right-of-way.

Any basketball pole, hoop, basket or other device erected or permitted to remain erected in violation of § 176-37 of this article shall be removed by the property owner at his, her or its own expense within 10 days after notice of violation of this article is received by said property owner. Notice of violation shall be served to said property owner by registered mail.
Bristol Township shall have the authority to remove any such existing structures and to forbid their replacement.

Anyone found to have constructed or erected or participated in the construction or erection of a basketball backboard or similar structure or object or to be in violation of any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not to exceed $1,000, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default thereof, shall be imprisoned for a term not to exceed 30 days.
