There is herein created a Board for the Handicapped so as to assist
and service handicapped persons in the Borough of Carteret.

A.
Said Board shall consist of seven (7) members.
B.
The members shall be appointed as follows:
(1)
Five (5) members shall be appointed by the Council, with
one (1) member appointed for one (1) year, a second member appointed for two
(2) years, a third member appointed for three (3) years, a fourth member appointed
for four (4) years and the fifth member appointed for five (5) years.
(2)
In addition to the above, the Council shall appoint one
(1) of its members to the Board for a one-year term.
(3)
The Mayor shall appoint one (1) member to the Board for
a one-year term and shall appoint the Executive Director of the Board for
a term of one (1) year, at no salary.

The Executive Director shall be appointed by the Mayor for a term of
one (1) year at no salary.
