Plumbing systems, both house and pool, shall conform to the standards established in the Borough of Glenolden Plumbing Code.[1]

All sewage and liquid waste shall be disposed of in the Borough's sanitary sewer system. This shall include pool wastewater except where the same can be drained directly into a creek or a storm sewer without draining onto or over the property of others. After obtaining a proper permit therefor from the Plumbing Inspector, a pool shall be connected with the sanitary sewer system by installing a four-inch-by-two-inch Y in the four-inch lateral sewer line. The size of the line entering the sanitary sewer line from the discharge side of the pump draining such pool will be governed by the capacity of said pump but in no case shall exceed two inches. There shall be placed in said discharge line a permanent disconnect system, and after pool is drained such system must be disconnected and line plugged or sealed.
No bathing place shall be so located as to be within the influence of the discharge of sewage or of injurious or objectionable industrial wastes.

Public or semipublic pools shall have separate dressing rooms for each sex which are adequate for the maximum number of persons who can be accommodated at any one time. Adequate minimum requirements for bathing places are as follows: An area of 3.5 square feet for each man and seven for each woman shall be provided for. Since normal attendance of public pools is two men to each woman, the total areas allotted to men and women should be equal. An acceptable size for both dressing rooms is a total of 20% of the area of the pool.
Adequate and separate toilet facilities for each sex shall be provided at all bathhouses. Flush toilets and urinals shall be provided and shall be properly maintained.
Lavatories shall be provided and located adjacent to the toilet facilities and there shall be provided soap and towels.
The common use of drinking cups, towels, hairbrushes or any other toilet articles is prohibited.
All parts of the premises shall be adequately clean, safe and maintained in a sanitary manner at all times.
A complete system of artificial lighting shall be provided for all pools, bathing beaches, bathhouses and dressing rooms that are to be used at night. Lighting fixtures shall be of such number and design as to light all parts of the swimming pool and the water therein, Such lights and electrical wiring in all bathing places shall be installed in accordance with the provisions of applicable existing laws. The electrical certificate showing approval of installation of electrical systems shall be posted in a conspicuous place.
