In a Neighborhood Business District, the following
regulations shall apply.
A building may be erected or used and a lot
may be used or occupied for any of the following purposes and no other,
provided that no merchandise or equipment shall be sold, displayed
or stored on a public sidewalk or right-of-way:
B. Offices, post office, banks or other financial institutions.
C. Bakeries, confectioners, ice cream shops, excluding
lunch wagons, automobiles and other similar vehicles from which food
is sold.
D. Nurseries, greenhouses and flower shops.
E. Jewelers, opticians, music stores and repair shops
for jewelry, watches, musical instruments, clocks or optical goods.
F. Barbershops, beauty parlors, hairdressing or manicuring
establishments.
G. Furniture and household appliances.
H. Neighborhood grocery store for the retail sale of
food products and normal household supplies.
I. Telephone or utility office.
J. Laundry, self-service launderette; tailoring, dressmaking
or shoe repairing.
K. Clothing or haberdashery.
M. Stationers, news dealers, pharmacists, drugstores.
N. The following uses when authorized by the Zoning Hearing Board as a special exception in accordance with the standards set forth in §
162-61:
(1) Any use substantially similar to the above-enumerated
uses.
(3) Sale or minor repair of motor vehicles, car wash and
motor vehicle service station, provided that no pump or other filling
service device shall be erected within 20 feet of the street line;
that all washing and/or repair work is done and all services are conducted
within an enclosed building; and that the parking and/or storage of
any motor vehicle, other than a currently licensed and inspected vehicle,
is prohibited.
No building or structure shall exceed 35 feet
in height.
Parking spaces shall be provided as required by §
162-54.
Design standards shall conform to the requirements of §
162-53.
Signs shall conform to the requirements of §
162-45.
