No person, firm or corporation shall operate,
conduct or carry on a business which is operated by the depositing
of a coin or token in a slot or aperture of or connected with a machine
or device and operated within a building unless, upon written application,
the Township Committee grants a license for the operation of said
coin-operated business.
A.Â
The written application for a license to operate a
coin-operated business shall set forth:
(1)Â
The name and address of the owner and operator.
(2)Â
The address of the proposed operation.
(3)Â
A brief description of the type of business and nature
of the operation.
(4)Â
A brief description of the type and the number of
machines proposed to be operated.
(5)Â
The proposed number of employees.
(6)Â
The proposed hours of operation and the number of
days per week which the applicant intends to operate.
(7)Â
A sketch of the building which will contain the coin-operated
machines or devices, with dimensions and the proposed layout.
If a coin-operated business as described above
operates between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., prevailing
time, an attendant shall be on duty during said period of operation,
and it shall be unlawful to carry on or operate a coin-operated business
as described above on any Sunday within the Township of Wyckoff.
In granting, refusing to grant or revoking a
license, the Township Committee shall take into consideration whether
the granting or continuance of the license would be, under all the
circumstances, inimical to the health, safety or welfare of the public.
Licenses shall be granted under this chapter
by the Township Committee and shall be issued by the Township Clerk
upon authorization of the Township Committee.
Any license may be revoked for good cause by
the Township Committee at any time after the issuance of the license.
However, a hearing on reasonable notice shall be held and the licensee
shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard.
The Building Inspector shall not issue a building
permit or certificate of occupancy for a coin-operated business as
described above until a license has been granted for same by the Township
Committee and issued by the Township Clerk.
