No person, firm or corporation shall operate,
conduct or carry on a business which is operated by the depositing
of a coin or token in a slot or aperture of or connected with a machine
or device and operated within a building unless, upon written application,
the Township Committee grants a license for the operation of said
coin-operated business.
If a coin-operated business as described above
operates between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., prevailing
time, an attendant shall be on duty during said period of operation,
and it shall be unlawful to carry on or operate a coin-operated business
as described above on any Sunday within the Township of Wyckoff.
In granting, refusing to grant or revoking a
license, the Township Committee shall take into consideration whether
the granting or continuance of the license would be, under all the
circumstances, inimical to the health, safety or welfare of the public.
Licenses shall be granted under this chapter
by the Township Committee and shall be issued by the Township Clerk
upon authorization of the Township Committee.
Any license may be revoked for good cause by
the Township Committee at any time after the issuance of the license.
However, a hearing on reasonable notice shall be held and the licensee
shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard.
The Building Inspector shall not issue a building
permit or certificate of occupancy for a coin-operated business as
described above until a license has been granted for same by the Township
Committee and issued by the Township Clerk.
Any person violating any of the provisions of
this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine
of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days,
or both.
